Labor Day weekend in Clearwater Beach

I love when work trips turn into vacation! For the past week I've been in Florida for a client press event, and with another event next week it worked out perfectly to visit family during my time here. Even with George's law school schedule, I'm so glad he was able to meet me in Clearwater Beach to stay with his lovely grandparents. It was such a fun mini getaway and I'm truly thankful it worked out! While our visit was short, I wanted to share some photos and restaurants we went to in case you're planning an upcoming trip or thinking about visiting.

Clearwater Beach was named No. 1 in the United Sates by TripAdvisor's list of Top Beaches for 2018. With over three miles of stunning views of Florida's Gulf Coast, it truly is a wonderful place to vacation. The white, sugary sand made the ideal beach trip during the day to relax and enjoy the weather. While it did rain and thunder everyday, it was not until the late afternoon so we were still able to enjoy the day. We started our day by catching up on reading and emails, then made our way to the beach to enjoy the crystal clear water.

There were plenty of restaurants and bars in the area, some were very touristy but the food was pretty good and consistent. Every restaurant also has great drinks and rum buckets (which were by far my favorite), including Crabby's Bar & Grill! There were a few higher end restaurants in the area including Bob Heilman's Beachcomber, a family owned restaurant with a 1920s flair.

So if you're looking for a great weekend getaway in a warm, sunny location, Clearwater Beach is the perfect place to go. Definitely look at the time of year you want to go because some seasons are more touristy than others!
