DIY spooktacular mercury glass vase

As much as I love pumpkins, they aren't the only elements to use when decorating for fall! With a little over a week left until Halloween, I wanted to start adding some additional spooky elements to my decor but wasn't exactly sure what to include. During one of my weekly visits to Michaels, I came across a small skull glass (that was on sale!) and knew it would be perfect as a vase. I've always wanted to make mercury glass which is extremely versatile, so I thought it would be a perfect match for the skull vase. You don't have to limit yourself to flowers or even the skull, you can use this DIY for any glass vase shape and even put a candle in the vase instead of flowers.

Materials:

Skull glass

Looking glass spray paint

Paper towels

Spray bottle with 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar

Instructions:

Start by coating a layer of spray paint on the outside of your glass. Next, spray the glass with the water and vinegar mixture. Following the mixture blot the surface with a paper towel and let dry for 30 seconds. Repeat these steps 7-8 times, or until you're satisfied with the results.
