Nothing screams summer like a delicious and juicy watermelon! Inspired by the vibrant pink and green hues, I wanted to bring an elegant yet simple tablescape to life that truly embodied the first signs of summer.
The town I grew up in has a Facebook page where our community gives away items they no longer want, and my sister found this adorable watermelon set of bowls and plates which were the perfect showstopper for the table design. I also couldn’t resist the gorgeous backdrop of my parents backyard to capture my tablescape.
Keep the florals simple To ensure your themed plates stand out, keep your centerpiece simple and chic. I used three bud vases and a vibrant pink hyacinth as the standalone flower in the center of the table. So your flowers match the theme you can also select a white flower or event place your centerpiece in a carved out watermelon.
Infusing watermelon throughout
I wanted to make sure the theme was cohesive throughout so make a watermelon, arugula and goat cheese salad with frizzled onions paired with a watermelon margarita. There are really endless options to create from grilled watermelon or even a nectarine salsa topping for grilled chicken.
Table details
Weaving in additional details, using a green and white tablecloth emulated the watermelon rind while straw placemats added some separation to make the watermelon plates stand out. Pink Fitz and Floyd goblets were also a subtle yet beautiful touch.
